After that head to Chaukhtatgyi (a colossal reclining Buddha),and transfer to your hotel. After that transfer to local restaurant for lunch. In the evening visit to Shwedagon Pagoda - described by Somerset Maugham: "The Shwedagon rose superb, glistening with its gold, like a sudden hope in the dark night of the soul of which the mystics write, glistening against the fog and smoke of the thriving city." This massive bell-shaped stupa rises nearly 100 meters above its hill-top surroundings. Wander through this magnificent structure and its courtyards, stupas, bells, temples, and Buddha images, and see religious and secular visitors from all parts of the globe. Shwedagon has become the symbol of Myanmar.After that transfer back to your hotel.

Thanlyin Day Tour

day tour 04Pick up from your hotel in Yangon and excursion to start with a visit to explore the village of Thanlyin (Syriam), around 15km from Yangon. Take a boat ride for a few minutes to see Kyauktan Island Pagoda, which is set on a tiny island in the river, its glass mosaic decorations flashing in the sunlight. The temple was founded more than 2,000 years ago, at which time the pagoda was much smaller than it is today. The pagoda contains a magnificent, golden buddha image in a small intricately-decorated room. The temple complex contains several more richly-decorated structures with fine wood carvings and golden decorations topped with a multi-tiered roof called Pyatthat. The water around the small island is full of catfish waiting for food so enjoy feeding the fish around the island. Continue sightseeing around the Kyauktan Market where you can find many dry fish, local vegetable and fruit shops. In the afternoon, visit Kyaik Khauk Pagoda which is a beautiful, impressive pagoda built more than 2,000 years ago, after which it has been enlarged and renovated many times. The base of the pagoda is surrounded by many small, golden stupas. The temple area is open to visitors; as in any Burmese temple, please remove shoes and socks. The pagoda is located on a small hill on Kyaik Khauk Pagoda Road heading towards Kyauktan in the southeast corner of Thanlyin Town. After that return back to Yangon and back to your hotel.

Bago Day Tour

day tour 05Pick up from your hotel in Yangon and then drive to Bago (84 km, about two hours), the ancient capital of Mon kingdom dated back from 1st to 16th Century AD. En route stop at Htauk-Kyant Alliance WWII cemetery; memorial cemetery of Allied Soldiers who died in Myanmar Campaign during the WWII. The cemetery‘s beautifully kept grounds has 27,000 stone-graves of Common–wealth & Allied Soldiers. Upon arrival to Bago, tour highlights; Kya Khat Wai Monastery to observe one of the three largest Monasteries in the country and the Buddhist monastic life and to observe the lunch process of thousands of monks who take their last meal of the day at 10:30 am in total silence. Later on, visit the magnificent Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda; over 2,000 years old temple. Visit HintharGone ; the legendry Hill with 37 Nats’ shrines and learn the Cult of Myanmar People from your local Tour Guide. Kyeikhtiyo Day Tour

day tour 06Pick up from your hotel in Yangon and drive to Kin Pun (base camp) where you will change from your vehicle to a truck which brings you up on a steep road to the top of the mountain. The truck ride takes approximately 45 minutes. On arrival, walk over a large platform to the Golden Rock and watch the beauty at this important pilgrimage site. Usually the place is lively with many people coming to spend precious moments here. Lunch at Mountain Top Hotel.

After lunch, return with the open truck back to Kin Pun base camp, and re-join your car and driver. Drive back to Yangon. Upon arrival in Yangon and transfer to your hotel.

Important Notes for Golden Rock:

The road from the base camp up to the Golden Rock has to be done by special dedicated trucks. You are not allowed to drive up there with your own vehicle. These open trucks are equipped with narrow benches on the back.

During the raining season, the platform around the Pagoda can be slippery due to rain or mist.

The Golden Rock Pagoda does regular gilding in a three year cycle. During this time, the rock will be covered in bamboo scaffolding. Prior notice is not given and exact schedule for the work are not really available.

Sunsets and sunrises on the platform can only be seen if you stay overnight.

A footpath goes up from the Golden Rock hotel to the top. The walk uphill takes around 45 minutes whereas downhill will take around 30 minutes. This path during the rainy season can be slippery.

As this is religious site, you are requested to have shirts with long sleeves and your knees covered. You also will have to remove your shoes and socks while walking over the platform to the Golden Rock.

Bagan One Day Tours

Mandalay One Day Tours

First, visit a silk weaving workshop which produces exquisite handmade products. After touring this tranquil site, continue to U Bein Bridge for a walk along this 200 year-old teak bridge. The bridge was constructed of 984 teak posts that were once part of the deserted Inwa Palace and it is 1.2 kilometers in length making it the world’s longest teak span. Then transfer to “Mahagandhayon Monastery” Where more than a thousand monks live and study the Buddha scripture. If time permit you will have the opportunity to observe the monks having their last meal of the day . Then proceed to Mandalay. Mandalay is the last capital of Myanmar and that make her to be the best place to see all the traditional arts and crafts. Start visiting gold leaf making work-place and see how the gold leaf is being made by hand in a traditional way.

“Mahamuni Pagoda” the great facial of Buddha and it was brought to Mandalay from Rakhine State during the reign of King Bodawpaya in 1784. The image is completely covered with 15cm thick gold. “Gold Leaf Making Workshop” you can see how to make gold leaf. The square gold leaf tissues are hand-made in Mandalay. Funitures, shrines, boxes, musical instruments etc are usually covered with gilded relief patterns. “Shwe Nan Daw Monastery”a superb example of an ancient traditional wooden buildingwith intricate carvings. “Kuthodaw Pagoda” make of marble and the “World’s Largest Book” is a 13-acre field of 729 pieces of stone on marble slabs. “Mandalay Hill”A superb panoramic view of the city can be seen from the top Sunset and overview of Mandalay city.
