Day 1: Yangon arrival and City Tour

sm 201 01On arrival you will be welcomed by SM Myanmar tour guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in (Normal check in time 14:00). After that visit to Yangon Colonial Style city center. Sule Pagoda” With unique architectural features 2000 years old, is located in the center of Yangon near City Hall and Mahabandoola Independent Monument Park, within a traffic circle. So, you can see “Window sightseeing”. Heading to “Chaukhtathgyi Pagoda” it is the fourth largest colossal reclining image in Myanmar and 67m long. “Then transfer to hotel for check in and take a short rest. Then “Shopping at Bogyoke Market (Scott) Market” with hundreds of food, clothes, handicrafts and gems stores. No visit to Yangon would be complete without spending some time at the stunning Shwedagon Pagoda, one the most venerable places of worship in Myanmar. Take in the array of gold and gems which light up around the giant golden dome as the sun slowly sets around you. Watch as the locals come here to make offerings before they return to your hotel.

Day 2: Bago sightseeing 

sm 201 02Our driver and professional guide will pick you up from your hotel around 8am and depart to Bago. It is located 50 miles (80km) north-east of Yangon, and we will take around 2 hour drive to arrive. Bago, formerly known as Hanthawaddy, is a city and the capital of the Bago Region in Burma. Upon arrival, we visit Kyakhatwine Monastery, an eminent teaching center for hundreds of monks from neighboring regions and the Mon-style Shwemawdaw Pagoda, 374 feet (114m) tall, higher than Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. Credited with being the tallest pagoda in Myanmar and the most outstanding religious monument. Although it has been through many renovations due to several earthquakes, some of the original structure, from the 10th century is still present today. You will also see the 180 feet (55m) long Shwe Thar Lyaung reclining Buddha, which was lost for hundreds of years, before being rediscovered by the British, during their rule. We continue our tour to the four seated Buddhas at Kyaikpun Pagoda and the site of Kanbawzathadi Palace. On the way back to Yangon, we will stop at the Allied War Cemetery in Htauk Kyant - final resting place of thousands of Allied Soldiers who perished during the World War II campaign in Myanmar. After that drive back to Yangon and transfer to hotel.

After breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport where you will arrive in time for your onward flight.
