Detail Itinerary

Tour name: SM 401

Day 1: Yangon arrival and City Tour

heritage tour 01On arrival you will be welcomed by SM Myanmar tour guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in (Normal check in time 14:00). After that visit to Yangon Colonial Style city center.Sule Pagoda” With unique architectural features 2000 years old, is located in the center of Yangon near City Hall and Mahabandoola Independent Monument Park, within a traffic circle. So, you can see “Window sightseeing”. Heading to “Chaukhtathgyi Pagoda” it is the fourth largest colossal reclining image in Myanmar and 67m long. “Then transfer to hotel for check in and take a short rest. Then “Shopping at Bogyoke Market (Scott) Market” with hundreds of food, clothes, handicrafts and gems stores. No visit to Yangon would be complete without spending some time at the stunning Shwedagon Pagoda, one the most venerable places of worship in Myanmar. Take in the array of gold and gems which light up around the giant golden dome as the sun slowly sets around you. Watch as the locals come here to make offerings before they return to hotel.

Day 2: Yangon - Bagan by flight and Bagan Sightseeing

heritage tour 02Take Breakfast box .In the morning catch your flight to the ancient city of Bagan where you will spend the day exploring the city. ArriveNyaung U Airport and Visit Nyaung U Market, Shwezigon Pagoda (the prototype for later Myanmar Stupas), KyansitthaUmin, Wet-Kyi-Inn Gubyaukgyi Temple with its exquisite mural painting from the 13th Century, and Htilominlo Temple. After lunch, visit a fascinating lacquer-ware workshop before continuing on to Manuha Temple, built by the exiled King Manuha, before stopping at Nanphaya, said to have been the residence of King Manuha. You will also visit Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece, as well as the Oakkyaung Monastery, which is decorated with multi-colored mural paintings. End the day with some breathtaking sunset views from the terraces of an ancient temple.

Day 3: Bagan - Mt.Popa, Popa sightseeing

heritage tour 03Breakfast at hotel.Our driver and professional guide will pick you up from your hotel around 8am and excursion to impressive Mt Popa, 48 kilometres south east of Bagan is an extinct volcano that rises 2417 feet above the northern plains. On top of this striking tower lies the most important ‘Nat’ (Spirit) shrine in Myanmar. The mountain is the abode of the powerful ‘Nat’ known as the Popa Goddess, or Popa Mother. She is considered to be kinder than most spirits and is the protector of women. At the base of the mountain is a shrine to the Lord of the Mountain. He is the protector of the house or town. He and his sister, Lady Golden Face protect the Tharaba Gate in Bagan.The complex of shrines is accessed by a 25 minute climb and there are panoramic views from the top. Tradition says you should avoid wearing red or black on the mountain as this may offend the resident spirits. Mt Popa lies within a National Park and there are hiking and horse riding opportunities in the area. There is time to climb the 777 steps to the top of the hill .After that return back to Bagan and you can stop along the way to see the production of palm sugar balls and try some of the local ‘toddy’. Back to Bagan.

Day 4: Bagan – Yangon by flight

heritage tour 04Breakfast at hotel. You will be transferred to the airport in time to catch your flight to Yangon. Arrive Yangon, Transfer to hotel.

Day 5: Yangon departure

heritage tour 05Breakfast at hotel. transfer to airport to fly back to Yangon. Leisure till check out time. If your flight is in the late afternoon or evening, you can leave your bags at the bell desk of hotel and explore on your own, returning to your hotel before your pre-arranged pick-up time of your airport transfer. You will transfer to Yangon International airport to take an international flight.
